What a GREAT car : The 1972 LeBaron sedan ( 1 of 13.472 produced ), SYD MEAD tells us :

I am a new member of the so.california imperial club. I received an e-mail from a fan in fowlerville, michigan who said he had a car i might be intereseted in. It was a 1972 imperial lebaron four door hardtop. The kicker was that at time of sending him a wire transfer, the car had only 3,985 original miles on it. I had it shipped out via blue highways and met the transport at the rose bowl parking lot. The car is black, black vinyl top and gold leather interior. I now have 4,1o4 miles on the car, and have had, and will have age-related maintenance done.
The former owner had a new a/c pump installed. I had the system charged with freeze12, an epa compliant refridgerant. He put five new michelin tires with the correct white wall width, a new master cylinder and brake pads; new water pump and other regular maintenance items. The car is now at a 'body off' facility east of pasadena having a new exhaust pipe installed, four new heavy duty shocks, the thermo carburator adjusted and the last and most frustrating 'repair,' the rim blow horn switch. I sent the steering wheel back to gary's steering wheel and he said he couldn't fix it. He sent it back, the wheel is now back on the car. I bought a new switch and am looking for a knowledgeable source to fit into the inner rim of the steering wheel.
Note: i had one of these as a daily driver when they were new. Now, 34 years later i can sort of collapse the intervening years and enjoy my '72 imperial once again.
I will send several pictures of the car for reference and perhaps, as with other members, they will be mounted on the site.
Thank you much

Tim Hulse is an enthusiastic member who joined the club in November. He is from Bakersfield and drives a 1956 2Dr. Southampton. Tim loves everything about the 50's so it would be logical that the 56 Imperial is his favorite. Tim purchased the car in September of 2004. The car came up on eBay, and he had to make a run for it. Oh-oh. He lost the bid in the final seconds. However, the story has a happy ending. The gentleman who won the car was kind enough to buy Tim's 55 Sedan so that Tim could buy the 56. As the story goes, the original owner worked for a Chrysler dealership and owned the car until retirement. It was driven to Oregon, parked and never registered again. Tim had the car hauled to Bakersfield. Both his fellow workers and neighbors just shook their heads, not sharing Tim's enthusiasm. His wife was even less enthusiastic. Within four weeks, Tim had it running. Tim describes the car as having a bad dark green paint job. The original colors call for surf green and cloud white. The interior will also have to be redone with light green Eagle cloth on the doors and seat inserts. The car has air, but not currently operational. Tim has a pretty extensive "to do" list for his car. We will keep you posted on his progress. This is the fourth Imperial Tim has owned and he plans to hang on to this one for a long time.

Also joining in November are Jeff Burnam and Brian Dawson of Santa Ana. They own a 1955 4 Dr. Sedan. In January, 2005, Andren Mandolene and Todd Goddard of Rancho Mirage joined the club. Their fleet consists of: 64 LeBaron, 66 Chrysler 300 convertible, 68 New Yorker coupe, 68 Town & Country, 66 New Yorker six window sedan. Also joining in January is Cruz Ontiveros of Desert Hot Springs; he drives a 65 Chrysler 300L.

Bill and Mary Holz from Danville, CA., joined the Club in June. They have a 1955 Imperial Sedan. Dan Melnik from Beaumont, CA., also joined in June and is looking for a 1966 Crown Convertible. Welcome, too, Jerry Garvin of Anaheim who drives a 1959 4-door Southampton.
