Upcoming Event: Eighteenth Annual Picnic
Presidents Message, from Marc Hampton.
Hello again from sunny and hot Palm Springs Calif. To all SCIOI Imperialist, this message is to bring you up to date on what our club has been doing and what is ahead of us this year and next.
So far we have had the 2013 Imperial Club BBQ, with great attendance; 117 members from SCIOI and Great Autos of Yesteryear. The food was great, the weather was great, and the cars were fantastic.
This year's Statewide Meet was held April 18th to 21st and was hosted by the Imperial Owners' Association of Northern Calif. (IOANC). It was held in Clovis, Calif., and a great meet it was. The attendance was very strong, the weather was great, and the events were fantastic. My congratulations go out to President John Tennyson and the IOANC members that helped put the event on for everyone to enjoy.
NEXT we are heading out to Jamul on June 8th, as Bob Wagner and Bob Lasher are hosting a luncheon at there lovely home and then we will tour their garage that is filled with incredible classics. I truly encourage members to attend this wonderful event.
Then on September 28th, we have the Annual picnic held in Laguna Nigel. It is always a fun event, where yours truly will be BBQ-ing all the burgers, chicken, and dogs, crispy and not so crispy. The club supplies the food and you supply the attendance. The cost is $10 dollars, and is well worth every cent of it. There is as always a $5.00 park entry fee.
The last event this year will be the Annual Business Meeting, which will be held in Temecula at the restaurant called Oscars. This meeting will be very important for us this year since the SCIOI is hosting next years Statewide Meet. We will need volunteers for certain things, but most of all your suggestions for the clubs future is always important and this meeting is the venue to make those ideas and suggestion known to the board.
The 2014 Statewide Meet will be held in Santa Maria, Calif., May 15 to 18. MARK YOUR CALANDERS NOW !
This is your club, and the board always encourages all members to participate in these events.
